What is the EIT Regional Innovation Scheme?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

The EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (EIT RIS) was created by the\u00a0European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) to close the\u00a0gap between regions that are leaders in innovation and those regions\u00a0which are progressing. The\u00a0programme\u00a0is implemented with the\u00a0involvement of local Hubs. An EIT Hub is a local\u00a0organisation\u00a0selected\u00a0by means of an open process to act as an interaction point between\u00a0Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) and local community\u00a0stakeholders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

EIT Health RIS Innovation Projects\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

EIT Health RIS 2020 innovation call aims at funding high-quality, strong, balanced projects, targeting EIT Health\u2019s six Focus Areas to be developed by local actors including both academic and non-academic partners in collaboration with EIT RIS hubs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The purpose of<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>programme<\/span><\/span>\u00a0is to promote healthcare innovation in countries with<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>modest and moderate innovation capacity. The goal is to help citizens<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in less developed European countries enjoy the benefits of innovation<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u2013 and develop and introduce new products and services supporting<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>active ageing and healthy living.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We ultimately aim at:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Development\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0local\u00a0innovation\u00a0ecosystem\u00a0in\u00a0RIS\u00a0regions\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Facilitate and foster cooperation among local KTI actors\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Provide EIT RIS regions with appropriate tools\/technics\/skills to participate in EIT. Health Business Plan 2022 in consortium with EIT Health partners.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Provide EIT Health RIS regions with internationalization tools.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Top EIT Health RIS projects in 2019<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    EIT Health RIS Innovation Call 2019<\/i><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    In 2019, RIS launched its first\u00a0EIT Health RIS Innovation Call 2019\u00a0<\/b>in the search for innovative and promising local projects in\u00a0the field of\u00a0health-care\u00a0in the emerging regions. The main aim was to identify and find high-quality, strong, balanced projects,\u00a0targeting EIT Health Focus Areas such as bringing care home or harnessing the power of\u00a0Real World\u00a0Data. One of the criteria\u00a0was that the project needed to be developed by well-settled consortia comprising local actors, including both academic\u00a0and non-academic partners in collaboration with EIT Health Hubs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
